iRivers at Comet Hill PS

Posted by Dave Fagg on February 28, 2007

Ben Fiegert, cluster educator for Eaglehawk, is taking some students from my “Working with the Community” class to help out primary school kids. The primary kids are making digital stories – using photos and recorded narrative (using iRivers) to create a story, using the program MovieMaker.

My students took the primary kids out to record their (pre-written) narratives onto the iRivers and then helped them put it behind a series of photos. One of my students, who’s not an extravert, cam back with a huge smile on their face – just loved it!

Unfortunately, due to laws surrounding privacy, we can’t show you the students’ faces in a photo, so you’ll just have to make do with this artistic rendering of an iRiver posing in front of Ben’s computer. Thanks Ben!

This is great work Ben and Dave and I am sure that both Comet Hill students and ESC Students had a great time. Well done

Since this project has started, Comet Hill PS has asked for a group of boys to do reading, homework and research with its “Success for Boys” program, and will pay them to do so. Fantastic what can happen when you connect young people into the community.
